Hrithik
: Hero Honda's e-generation Ambassador
Hero
Honda, the market leader in motorcycles, now takes on two heart
throbs of the nation, Hrithik Roshan and Saurav Ganguly,
as its brand ambassadors for the next 3 years. Strongly associated
with sports and entertainment, Hero Honda will soon promote its
bikes with the 'Desh Ki Dhadkan.' The two stars will
not only endorse Hero Honda products both current and new, but will
also be present at various corporate brand events and help promote
the Hero Honda 'We Care' campaign.
Hero
Honda has been an avid supporter of cricket and sports for years
and now believes that entertainment is the new e-generation mantra.
Hero Honda has just signed on as the official sponsor of ICC World
Cricket, up to the World Cup 2003. Their long association with cricket
began with the Hero Cup in 1993. In keeping with the entertainment
mantra, Hero Honda sponsored film awards for Hindi films - the Hero
Honda Stardust Millennium Honours; for Bengali films 'The Hero Honda
BFJA awards;' and the the Hero Honda 20th Cinema Express Awards
for South Indian films.
The
company has sold an impressive 4,79,630 motorcycles in the first
half of the current financial year as compared to the 3,88,326 in
the corresponding period of the last financial year. It has thus
registered a growth of 42% against the industry growth of 31 per
cent in the motorcycle segment.
"The Indian two wheeler market is fast catching up with
the international trend and motorcycles have taken a big lead over
scooters and mopeds. Our focus on this segment, our technological
edge and a well designed supply chain have contributed to the excellent
results," says a confident Brijmohan Lall, chairman
& managing director, Hero Honda Motors Ltd.
The company will invest more than Rs 120 crores this year for capacity
expansion as well as technological advancement. They are fully committed
to achieving the one million mark this year, with a sales turnover
of over Rs 3000 crores. With Hrithik Roshan and Saurav Ganguly endorsing
their motorcycles, this does not seem to be a pipe dream.
