Mumbai has a vast range of shops offering extensive variety which makes it increasingly tough for the prospective buyer. One of the favourite saree stores in Mumbai is Roopmilan, located at Marine Lines. It is difficult to walk out of the shop without picking up a saree. Byers checking out the sareesAccording to S D Sanghvi , a partner at Roopmilan," Initially, the store had readymades as well as sarees to offer, but with time we realised that it was sarees that was our forte and so, we concentrated on sarees. " The high point of Roopmilan is its bridal wear collection. With a workshop of its own, the store is able to design its own sarees and make the necessary improvisations on the five metre cloth. "We try to create new things and cater to various tastes," says Sanghvi. The range of sarees is as diverse as the country it originates from. Sarees of every type and quality, be it Banarasi, Paithani, Kanjivaram, Patola, Kotki, Tath can be obtained at the shop.

Roopmilan is recognised world wide particularly among NRIs and in the gulf countries, for the excellent quality of their sarees and dress materials. The sarees begin as low as Rs. 200 and go up to Rs 80,000. The days of heavy zari laden sarees are now over, for it is pastel shades with mild embroidery which are preferred today. The Swarovski jewels embedded in sarees are very much in vogue. Roopmilan continues to cater to the fancies of women, through their elegant and wearable sarees.
