Technology Parks of India - Mumbai
The Software Technology Park is one of the most successful
plans in Mumbai for all major software exporters and IT-enabled
/ tele-enabled services. The STPI (Software Technology Parks of
India), MTNL and the Government of Maharashtra worked together to
build an IT Corridor connecting the International Infotech Park,
Millennium Business Park and the Santacruz Electronic Export Processing
Zone (SEEPZ).
STPI facilitates a front end to software exporters for governmental
policies and approvals and performs various functions like issuance
of import certificates, software valuation, etc for the member units
as a single point interface.
Services offered
STPI offers regulatory services, approvals for software export
/ IT enabled / tele-enabled units under single window clearance;
certification of exports, duty-free imports and duty-free domestic
purchases and soft net services. The soft net services include:
Softpoint - Provisioning of point-to-point digital circuit
from Mumbai to any seaport of the globe and Softlink - Provisioning
of TCP / IP based network providing access to the Internet.
The units approved under STP scheme are eligible for duty free
imports of capital goods required for software development viz.
computers, networking equipments, UPS, air-conditioners, etc and
outright purchase or loan.
