Mukand Pvt Ltd. are renowned for being the largest producers of special alloy and stainless steel and a leading manufacturer of automotive, engineering, stainless and specialised steel plants in a wide range of grades (over 400 grades), sizes and supply conditions.

Mukand was the first company in India to adopt the continuous casting technology in 1965, vaccum oxygen decarburisation in 1984 and oxygen top and bottom blown converter in 1989 for stainless steel production in Kalwe plant. Mukand had also introduced easy draw continuous cooling system for wire rods in 1981, installed ultra high power furnace in 1986, bell furnaces for annealing in 1991 and short time cycle furnaces for spheroidise annealing in 1996.

To enhance and maintain its leadership in engineering and automative steels, Mukand , in partnership with TATA Korf, make use of the most modern mini blast furnace and energy optimising furnace for its steel plant at Hospet set up in 1998.

Mukand's special steels come in a wide range of grades (over 400 ) like stainless (200, 300 and 400 series), cold heading quality steels, bearing quality steels, free cutting steels, leaded free cutting steels, spring steels, and special carbon and alloy steels. Other products include wire rods / coils (5.5mm to 28.6mm diameter) , bars and rounds (10mm to 160mm diameter) and bright bars (5mm to 85mm diameter).

Mukand's customers include Sundram Fasteners Ltd., Lakshmi Precision Screws Ltd., Sterling Tools Pvt. Ltd., Jaico Steel Fasteners Ltd., Dev Fasteners Ltd., Dev Fasteners Ltd., Pooja Forge, SKS Fasteners, Right Tight Fasteners Pvt. Ltd. Among its international customers are Tong Hwei (Taiwan), Tong Heer (Malaysia), Ferriere di Stabio (Switzerland) , Penen (Belgium), Lanka Fasteners (Sri Lanka), Inox Viti (Italy) and Stainless Fastners, (Bangladesh).
