Fantasy
Land is the only full-fledged amusement park within the city
limits of Mumbai. The park, spread over 30 acres, opened in September
1992. It plans to be a 'One-Stop Family Entertainment Centre'. Features:
thrills like the first and only Roller Coaster in Mumbai that does
the full 360 degree loop, the Sky Circle (a ride 18 feet above the
ground with an aerial view of the entire park), the Go Kart Dirt
Track, and the Kiddie Toy Train. It has also newly launched 'H2O
Watercoasting' - India's first multi-slide water coaster ride that
promises not to get you wet! Other
Amenities: Fast Tracs (a discotheque). Four specialty restaurants
- Gulal --for vegetarian Indian food, and Chinese Pavilion,
both managed by Kamat Hotels; Rooster, the American fast
food outlet managed by Croissants Etc., and a Chaat Corner.
About an hour's drive from any corner of the city, Fantay Land is
ideal for even a half-day outing.

| ESSELWORLD
Esselworld was the first amusement park that really caught
the imagination of Mumbaites. Located just outside the city limits
in Gorai village, across the creek from Borivili or Malad, this
is the most popular amusement park in Mumbai. Spread over 64 acres,
Esselworld now has the advantage of Water Kingdom, which is coming
up alongside. There are plenty of fun options that can be enjoyed
by the entire family - Crazy Cups, Fuji Aqua Dive (a nose-dive from
over 50 feet into water at speeds of 50 miles/hour), Monster, Haunted
Hotel, Mirror Maze, Funny Mirrors, Hedge Maze, Zipper Dipper the
wooden roller coaster. Children can go for the Play Port, Fun Net,
Fun House, Virtual Reality games, Kwality Walls Junior Dodgem, Carousel,
Mini Telecombat, Big Apple, Yard Train, Bump'm Cars, Crazy Shuttle
and more. Smaller children have the Junior Waltzer, Caterpillar,
Children's Boat Ride, Kiddies Flume, Go Cart, and Kinder Carousel.
Brave adults also have the Automol Senior Dodgem, Cadbury's Zyclone
(roller coaster), Rainbow, Thunder, Rock 'n Roll (to be avoided
on a full stomach!), Enterprise, Slippery Sultan, and Bump'm Cars
for adults. There are several food kiosks in the park which serve
a variety of dishes. Esselworld is accessible by ferry or road,
with private tour operators offering services to Esselworld across
the city.
Entry is free for kids below 3'3" in height.

HAKONE
Hakone
is a Hiranandani enterprise, and is situated within the Hiranandani
complex at Powai. It aims at entertainment options for the entire
family. The arcade, video simulation, virtaul reality and redemption
games come from Sega, Namco, Konami etc., and include Suzuki 8 hrs,
Sega Rally, Jurassic Park, Tekken 2, Aqua Jet, Virtual Cop, and
Midnight Run. The entire amusement arcade is about 3000 sq. feet
and some of the games like Formula One Racing, Jet skiing, Shooting,
and Armed combat have 50-inch screens. Hakone
offers some of the best Go-Karting facilities in the city, with
a 680-m sloping track in 4-stroke petrol engine driven Go-karts.
Other facilities include rock climbing on a 11-m high climbing wall,
a 9 hole mini golf course, a cafeteria, and snooker rooms. On the
anvil are a bowling alley, a cinema hall and an amusement park.
