Melange : The fashion store that makes a statement
Housed
in a 100-year-old building at Altamount Road, Melange is
one of the premier haute couture stores of the metropolis.
As one swings open the huge glass and wrought iron door, one steps
into a world of elegance and style. A store for the contemporary
woman, it showcases a gamut of trendy, modern and yet utilitarian
clothes and accessories.
Melange
offers the best in Indian fashion both western and eastern wear,
from the top designers of the country. The range on display is vibrant
and colourful. The store promotes both established as well as upcoming
designers, with quality, price and consistency being the keywords
in the consideration of their products. The range offers salwar
kameezes, sarees, jackets and trousers. The most interesting thing
about Melange is the brilliant juxtaposition of the past
with the present, and the bold with the elegant. The
interiors of the store, prepared in raw and earthy tones, houses
some of the most exclusive garments. Known for its eco-friendly
concepts, the store houses clothes that are prepared from natural
fibers.
With its commitment to various issues such as Environment , and
Heritage development, Melange has tried to uphold a holistic
approach to design. It seeks to promote areas which have been long
neglected .
Proprietor
Sangita Kathiwada with her commitment to incorporating recent
designs with the most ancient handicrafts established The Morarka
Centre for Craft at the National Centre for Performing Arts. Workshops
and demonstration are organised on issues related to education and
handicrafts.
The Windows, an art gallery which was recently started
by the same organisation, lends the store a unique flavour. The
sales staff at the boutique are friendly and offer expert help in
the selection of garments. At Melange one should expect the
unexpected.
