 "Buying

Shehzad Zaveri, owner Minawala Jewellers. This well-known
city jeweller also feels, "Diamonds should not only be seen as

admired." Zaveri literally gave a face lift to Minawala Jewellers
after he took over from his mother 10 years ago. Inheriting the
family's dying jewellery business, he infused new passion into his
creations. More than his degree in gemology, he wanted his jewellery

 "I
do all the designing for the jewellery collection. We have come
out with many ranges like Ice Collection, Eirsha Collection and
the latest being Afsana Collection. Today, we have a large export
market and our trusted clients are from London, US and Dubai,"
says Zaveri, who got into the trade right after his education.
Located on the main S V Road at Santacruz, the store is a monolithic
structure, dressed in bold purple and silver giving it an international
flavour. Inside, the clear, straight lines are highlighted with
the use of a combination of new age material like brushed steel,
rosewood, silver and a touch of purple. The Heera Panna showroom
of Minawala Jewellers at Mahalaxmi has also been remodelled in the
same silver and purple colours.
The Minawala Collections
The Ice Collection is designed on crystalline classicism
and it reunites
jewels to beautiful, rare diamonds as in eternity. In this collection,
round, yellow diamonds alternate with white baguettes, mounted on
a blend of white and yellow gold. This year, Minawala has dedicated
a great deal of attention to unusual and rare, coloured diamonds
- yellow, pink, azure, green and blue. These jewellers have also
hand-picked many rare varieties for their exclusive collections.
 Eirsha
is a collection that can be better defined as 'aristocratic by choice.'
