Fashion Trends for the Year 2001
For
the fashion conscious, constant upgradation of the wardrobe is necessary
but then you needn't throw old clothes away. Every year has it own
favorites when it comes to clothes and the year 2001 has a lot offer
in terms of fashion. The eighties trends are back with a bang and
it is the cool and hip look that will dominate the scene. Fashion
will be fanciful and flowery yet simple. And the clothes will have
straight cuts all the way.
Colour: Do away with all those dull and subtle colors for
it is time for bold and vivid shades to invade your wardrobe. It
will be bright colors all the way. Yellow, Orange, Gold, Magenta,
Pink, Red and contrasting shades will be most preferred. Flower
power of the seventies and eighties will be back in vogue and floral
prints the best choice. Smooth and soft designs of the east coupled
with the blossom prints in bright and happy colors could be worn
throughout the year. Flashy graphic design patterns will be the
biggest fashion trend of the season. Geometric prints in funky colors
will be a favorite.
Clothes:
One will get to see a great deal of denim but the capri look
will be out so do away with those jeans shorts and jackets. However
those really old and worn out pairs of jeans can be worn. Tank tops
and shirts in trendy necklines are really hot especially for teeny
boppers. But then it is the cropped pants which take the cake. It
is greatly preferred, for it can be worn all the year long. Made
from cottons and polyester they can be accessoried with anything
and everything from strappy sandals to sneakers. Skirts of late
has begun to resurface. Rather than the short and sexy look it will
be the long straight lined skirts this season. But more flowy and
flared skirts with the sheer look will be worn extensively. Leather
trousers and jackets especially faux leather which is the cheaper
variety will also be preferred.
Party Dressing: Given the fact that Indian women prefer
wearing sarees, this traditional Indian wear will retain it value
especially in party circles. But for the more westernized there
is the preferred black dress in both its long and short forms. But
trying out pastel shades is one of the many options available. The
pastel ball shirts can be worn calf length with a fitting top. And
if you are the dress type go for those long strapless attires and
charm all those out there.
Shoes:
Thinner heels are in style this season but then don't throughway
those chunky heels. Sometimes shoes give you a different look altogether
and works to ones advantage. The pegged heels with delicate points
gives a highly elegant look but then one has to carry herself well.
The flat shoe and sabrina heel shoe are comfortable and can be worn
with ease. Don't do away with the toe revealing strappy sandals
for they go very well with any outfit.
Accessories: Even the most dull and uninspiring outfit
can be given a new look by the right kind of accessories. One of
the most essential items this season are belts made from leather
and chain and they come in a variety of designs. The diamante belts
can be worn around the waist or slung across the hip. Even the trendy
denim belts give a youthful look to any attire. Beaded jewelry and
hoop earrings which is the talk of the town go very well with both
Indian and western outfits. Denim saddle bags and a range of various
kinds of denim bags is bound to become a rage this year despite
the strong presence of leather in the market.
