WellSpring:The complete health care solution
Wellspring, a comprehensive provider in the pharma
and health care business made its advent in June, 2000, with the
purpose of offering international quality health care in India.
It would not be an exaggeration if we call Wellspring a 'one-stop
shop' for health, fitness and well-being, providing services to
individuals, companies and health care professionals.
This health care centre is a maiden venture of BUPA Piramal
Healthcare Ltd, a 50:50 joint venture between Piramal Enterprises
Ltd, the well known industrial and pharmaceutical group and
BUPA (British Provident Association) from the UK, a company
with over 50 years experience of health care.
 David
Boyle, managing director of BUPA New Businesses said,
"Wellspring will be a unique feature since it will be the
first health care facility in Mumbai to look at health and fitness
from a holistic perspective." It will also house a research
facility for genome technology, and one of India's finest major
Clinical Research Units, which will carry out trials of life saving
drugs on human volunteers .
Spread over 40,000 square ft, it provides ambulatory care facilities
for a variety of medical consultations with general practitioners,
consulting physicians, cardiologists, gynecologists, pediatricians,
dentists, orthopaedic surgeons, ophthalmologists, dermatologists,
nephrologists, and more. It also offers the most modern and technologically
advanced facilities for diagnostics, pathology, radiology and physiotherapy
and a fully-equipped four-bed dialysis unit.
 The
Health Centre houses a well-equipped 3,200 square ft. sports gymnasium
and a sports science complex, which is supported by medical doctors.
The healthy eating restaurant housed within the complex provides
health food cooking courses. It offers convenient health packages
to corporates for annual executive health check-ups, pre-employment
health screenings for employees on location, membership to the sports
gymnasium, etc.
The comprehensive pharmacy on the premises, stocks prescription
drugs, nutrition supplements, components for foot care, skin care,
diabetes care and orthopaedic, and also makes available some lifesaving
medicines, which are difficult and cumbersome to import.
 The
Health Centre offers medical and surgical consultations, pathology,
imaging and radiology, physiotherapy / osteopathy / orthotics, dentistry,
haemodialysis, pharmacy superstore, medical check-up plans, skin
and hair clinic, fitness and sports science centres, yoga / stress
management, aerobics and a healthy eating restaurant.
Wellspring is the first offering of BUPA Piramal Healthcare LTD,
which was established in October 1999. It marks the advent of a
new era in the delivery of primary healthcare, diagnostics and fitness.
