Colorama
- the photo studio at the Oberoi
 Having started as
an amateur photographer, Surendra R Shestra decided to make
photography his profession. Shestra, the owner of Colorama, the
photo studio at the Oberoi Hotel , has been in the business
for the past 25 years. Colorama does all kinds of print work from
industrial photography, fashion and glamour photos, table top, video
photography, and lamination.
 Shestra has shot almost
everyone who belongs to the category of the rich and famous from
around the world. Being the official photographer of the Oberoi
Hotel, Shestra says "Being here has made it possible for me to
click everybody, be it the President of America, Bill Clinton or
Cindy Crawford ." Photography is the shared passion of both
Surendra as well as his brother, the reputed glamour photographer,
Rakesh Shestra. Both brothers had given up their family business
in ayurvedic medicines and taken to clicking pictures. Colorama
is jointly owned by the two brothers .
"The idea of capturing images via the camera is very interesting.
Earlier it was just me doing most of the work, but with increasing
work pressure, I had to hire five people . Today, my work has become
much more selected . " One of the hallmarks of the studio is
the quality of photography which, according to Shestra, is one of
the best available in Mumbai . The only store of its kind in the
Oberoi Shopping Arcade, Colorama offers true value for money.
