Awnings, Blinds and Canopies - from Joy
Mottura
Stereotyped
curtains, at times, look very dull, but for most people there is
not really much they can do. One can install venetian blinds, but
then there is the problem of cleaning them thanks to the dirt and
pollution prevalent in Mumbai. With Indians increasingly taking
to western ideas, the concept of roller blinds has picked up a great
deal. These blinds come in a variety of shades and people have taken
a fancy to them. With prices not very different from curtains, they
have become the first choice of architects and interior designers.
Joy
Mottura is a manufacturer of roller blinds and awnings. Established
in 1992, the company today promotes the use of these novel screens
and awnings in India. Roller blinds which can be operated both manually
as well as motorised ones are available. These electrically devised
rolling screens can be operated by means of a switch or a remote.
Made from PVC coated fabrics, they are specialised preconstraint
fabrics which are imported from an Italian company Ferrari and there
are roller blinds manufactured from technical fabrics which are
of international standards and obtained from Holler, an Italian
brand. "Its unique solar protection allows a clear view
outside, but prevents the eyes from the harsh glares of the sun,"
says Girish Parikh, owner of Joy Mottura.
It
is not just architects and interior designers who recommend usage
of roller blinds, but all people with an eye for the different.
According to Parikh, "Our products are very popular as they
are a workable alternative to curtains and are good value for money."
The use of these blinds increases air-conditioning efficiency,
reduces UV rays, protects the interiors from fading. The roller
blinds are fire resistant. These blinds range from Rs 220 per square
foot to Rs 450 per square foot.
