CIDCO
to create futuristic Infotech park in Navi Mumbai
The
City Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) is
working towards creating a futuristic International Infotech
Park (IIP) at Vashi, Navi Mumbai. This mega project is
being developed by CIDCO in collaboration with the union Department
of Electronic's Software Technology Parks of India (STP),
which is providing the expertise.
CIDCO Chairman Professor Javed Khan told mumbaibest.com
that CIDCO is working on plans to set-up the IIP at Vashi, to give
a further boost to the Information Technology (IT) sector in Maharashtra.
Currently, CIDCO is studying the possibility of implementing plans
for specific need based amenities, to make IIP a reality.
``IIP will provide 80 hectares of ultra-modern and state-of-the-art
technology surroundings with 60,000 square feet of built up area
in a beautiful designed building in phase-I. The park will have
a 2000-line electronic telephone exchange. There will be adequate,
uninterrupted and stable power supply from the independent corridors
and standby high capacity generators will be installed to substitute,
in the event of a power failure or load shedding. Residential facilities
in the close vicinity of IIP, will be made available by CIDCO. An
attached suburban services railway station with a plush shopping
arcade, elaborate conference facilites, recreation parks and gardens,
health club and large area for car parking, will be some of the
necessities provided at IIP'' said Khan.
Khan also disclosed that CIDCO is even seriously thinking of developing
a futuristic technological village, which will be accessible from
all parts of the country by an expressway. The technological village
will have a water transport system, a commuter railway system connected
to it and helicopter services keeping in mind the needs of technology-oriented
companies in telecommunications, IT, electronics and related industries,
which will pitch their tents within its periphery.
