  VIJAY SHANKAR

Vijay Shankar is a Kuchpudi exponent who holds lecture-Vijay Shankardemonstrations on Indian Classical dance in various schools and colleges across the country. His demonstrations span seven dance forms - Bharatnatyam, Mohiniattam, Kathakali, Odissi, Manipuri and Kathak, besides Kuchipudi. He considers that these are merely different styles and techniques that express the same "philosophy". The idea is to give the children a general understanding of Indian Classical dance. The demonstrations, which have been held across the country for over 12 years now, are generally of a 2-hour duration.
