INDIAN
MUSIC GROUP
 The
Indian Music Group is a student-run organisation of St
Xaviers College that is devoted to Indian Classical music. The
group has 6 or 7 baithaks every year. These baithaks are
small concerts held within the college premises, where all music
lovers are welcome. The IMG also hosts the Jan Fest - a three
day music festival that is organised on a much larger scale, with
entry being ticketed.There is also the Young Artist Festival
featuring upcoming artists.
The IMG conducts music appreciation courses and other workshops
related to music. It has a library that is a treasure hous e
of music, with records of all concerts held at the IMG over the
last 25 years. The library has a few books on music as well. Membership
to the IMG is Rs 100/- per year for students and Rs 200/- per year
for non-students. Life membership comes at Rs 2,000/-. Many of the
biggest names in Indian Classical music have played at IMG concerts.
