Managing Mahindra

Anand MahindraAnand Mahindra, managing director of Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M), the flagship company of the Mahindra group, is the young and vibrant force behind the business operations. After completing his degree in Arts and Business Management from Harvard University, he contributed to the family business from 1991. He put the business set-up on a pedestal and set his ambitious plans rolling, making the company most sought after by long term investors.

An aggressive venture capitalist, he leads the group into the millennium with many ambitious plans and has changed the face of family run ventures by separating management from ownership. Redefining and reorganising many of the businesses, he built his establishment around customer relation management.

Believe In Reliance

Dhirubhai AmbaniDhirubhai Ambani, the Reliance icon, who is among the select band of Forbes' billionaires has achieved in one generation, what would have taken others atleast a couple. This man who rose from nothing is today a kind of Demi-God to every one of his 2.5 million investors for whom he created quite a treasure. He tapped the rural investment market and worked with the 'zero cost' money of small players, long before investment fever gripped the middle class in the mid-'80s.

He was never one to scare easily and has probably broken every rule of the game and at times had Finance Ministers raising and lowering duties at his bidding. This dynamic business attitude has been passed down the generations to his sons Mukesh and Anil Ambani, who are at the helm of the business today.
