 Gita Piramal

Business In Her Blood

Gita PiramalGita Piramal made it to the limelight with her book 'India's Industrialists.' She is a freelance journalist by profession with a Ph.D. in business history. Also the author of the best-selling Business Maharajas and Business Legends she has added Business Mantras to her coveted portfolio. A deep insight on the business and the corporate front has awarded her a celebrated place in the world of business journalism.

She did her schooling in the United Kingdom and her college education at Sophia College, Mumbai. It was during her Masters that she realised her forte - writing. She produced business history pieces for newspapers like The Economic Times as well as the Financial Times in the UK. Soon after, her first book 'India's Industrialists' was published, which turned out to be quite a success. This gave her impetus to write.

This celebrated author has been wielding the pen for 20 years now and has been a biographer for many a successful person. Her penmanship speaks of vibrancy, spontaneity and simplicity - 3 key words of a successful writer.

 Gautam Rajadhyaksha

Picture Perfect

Gautam RajadhyakshaMost Bollywood heroes and heroines owe part success to him. Gautam Rajadhyaksha, one of the best known photographers in the trade, is professionally influenced by greats like Richard Avedon, Cartier Bresson and Wilas Bhende. Armed with a first class degree in Microbiology and Chemistry and a gold medal in Advertising and Public Relation, he turned his avocation (photography) into his vocation.

One can call him a 'faces portraitist.' He has captured some of the most beautiful faces on film, making them part of history. He worked in Lintas for 15 years and then started off on his own to work in the intimacy of his home. He is also the editor of the Marathi monthly magazine 'Chanderi.'

His undiminished love affair with Bollywood culminated in a 200-plus page book called Faces, a compilation of his 17 years of sweat and blood.

 Simi Garewal

Woman In White

Simi GarewalLike the woman in red, Simi Garewal is the woman in white - the epitome of elegance and style. A celebrity of sorts herself, she has interviewed some of the most camera shy personalities on stage and got away with it. She managed to evoke response from media shy Ratan Tata, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, Kumaramangalam Birla and wife Nirja, and even close-mouthed Hema Malini who spoke about Dharmendra, her relationship and daughters on Rendezvous with Simi Garewal.

Young Simi offered fleeting glimpses of herself in films like Mera Naam Joker, Chalte Chalte and Siddharth. Then there was Rukhsat with Mithun Chakraborthy and Anuradha Patel, her directorial debut and a few documentaries. She came into the limelight with an exclusive documentation of late Rajiv Gandhi, who she captured on film over a period of five years. Few such celebrity hosts possess oomph, poise and charisma.
