MTDC
The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has
its resort bang on the beach. A small path at the back of the resort
leads to the beach. MTDC provides sea-facing double rooms, non-sea
facing double rooms, a cabin and tents. Tents are available except
during monsoons. The tents are furnished with metal cots, a cupboard,
side table and a pedestal fan. Obviously, they are not self-contained
and common toilets are available on the outside.MTDC boasts of a
restaurant facility, but I would not call it more than a canteen.
A lone Nepali runs this eating joint. So, only the Chinese food
is worth the risk. If you are looking for luxurious accommodation
with good room service then MTDC is not the place for you. Not as
well maintained as one expects, this place is barely satisfactory.
Watch out for damp beds, and small red ants found aplenty on the
beds and blankets.
